This course builds on people’s communication skills and provides tools to effectively advocate for their disabled family member.

This course builds on people’s communication skills and provides tools to effectively advocate for their disabled family member.

This course also provides training for parents interested in offering advocacy support through Parent to Parent. Some places are available for professionals which further enhances the learning experience.

For parents and full time caregivers who have children with a disability or health impairment and who would like to support others through the Parent to Parent network.

Support Parent Training

For parents and full time caregivers who have children with a disability or health impairment and who would like to support others through the Parent to Parent network.

The course covers communication skills, looks at grief issues and provides the opportunity for personal awareness where parents can consider their ability to support others in similar circumstances. After training, parents are able to become volunteer support parents – support parents providing support to new families contacting Parent to Parent.
