This is an interactive workshop presented by Carolyn Stobbs from IHC for anyone caring for a person with a disability or Autism.
At this workshop you will:
• Explore what ‘supported decision-making’ is and why you need to know about it
• Learn how to support a family member or others to make decisions
• Share ideas about the challenges faced when making decisions
• Build your knowledge to ensure the people you support are getting what they need
Also find out about benefits families and young people are entitled to and what subsidies are available through WINZ from Heidi Robertson, Acting Regional Disability Advisor/Health & Disability Coordinator for Ministry of Social Development.
Join us for morning tea at 9.15am before the workshop starts at 9.30am. Lunch is provided.
