SibCamp

North Canterbury

An opportunity for siblings to share a special weekend full of adventure and discovery!

This SibCamp is now full. If you would like to express your interest in future SibCamps, please contact us via ‘ask a question’ above.

Siblings will get the chance to breathe in nature, hang out together and have fun in a stunning North Canterbury natural playground. Through a range of activities, siblings will play and learn in a safe environment with every opportunity to make life-long memories.

The benefits of outdoor adventure are many, including creative challenge, increased environmental awareness, better emotional regulation, improved social interaction, physical and mental exercise and more!

As well as having fun and making new friends, siblings will get the chance to sit down together and talk about what it’s like having a disabled sibling, in a safe environment with others who know just where they are coming from. We expect this discovery weekend to be very popular so get in quick!

Children and youth aged 8-18 with an intellectually-disabled sibling are eligible to attend. A full list of clothing and equipment will be provided to attendees. Food will be provided from Saturday lunch through to Sunday breakfast.

This event is free thanks to funding from IHC.
