Schizophrenia is a mental illness with a range of symptoms, including thought disorders, delusions, abnormal emotions and hallucinations. It interferes with the personality and everyday functioning of the individual and will affect around one person in every 100 throughout the world, to varying degrees.

The Schizophrenia Fellowship (NZ) Inc. was born out of necessity, and established by families for families. As avoluntary organisation dedicated to the caregivers and families of those with a mental illness the Fellowship has shown a remarkable capacity to survive.
