Navigating the system

Do you have a disabled child, a neurodivergent child, or a child with a health impairment? Learn more about what supports are available and how to access them.

Learning about disability support services can feel overwhelming for many parents and caregivers. This workshop is designed to guide you through the supports available in your region, while also offering the chance to hear directly from professionals working within the disability support sector.

Participants will gain a clear overview of what disability support can look like, the services available locally, and how to access and engage with the supports your family may need. Topics will include vision planning, thinking beyond school and dreaming big, building a circle of support, and understanding changes to funding.

The session will be facilitated by Jane Ford, Regional Coordinator for Parent to Parent (Coastal Bay of Plenty / Central Lakes District / Manawatū), alongside Kathleen Sanft, Community Liaison for Parent to Parent.

RSVP to Kathleen Sanft at k.sanft@hotmail.com or Jane Ford at janef@parent2parent.org.nz.

Hot drinks and a beautiful whānau dinner will be provided. This workshop is free! Thanks to funding from Care Matters.
