Parenting Through the Teenage Years

Neurodivergence and Disability

Are you navigating the teenage years and finding that the usual parenting advice doesn’t always fit? This supportive workshop is for parents of teenagers who are disabled or neurodivergent.

We’ll explore what may be behind behaviour, how adolescence can interact with disability and neurodivergence, and practical ways to respond while staying connected. It’s a chance to step back, make sense of what’s happening, and take away strategies you can use at home.

This practical, supportive workshop will cover adolescent development, emotional regulation, sensory tools, co-regulation, safe spaces, respectful boundaries, and the added layers of parenting a neurodivergent or disabled young person. We’ll also explore withdrawal, changing relationships and the growing need for independence.

Whether you’re feeling unsure, overwhelmed or simply looking for new ways to support your teenager, this workshop offers a welcoming space to learn, reflect and connect. We’ll also consider how to look after yourself when parenting feels challenging, exhausting or rejecting. Registration is essential as spaces are limited.

This workshop is FREE and in partnership with Acorn.
