Our popular SibShops offer the opportunity for children and youth aged 8-18 with a disabled, neurodiverse or health impaired brother or sister to have a day where the focus and attention is just on them.
As well as having a blast rockclimbing, siblings will get the chance to sit down together and talk about what it’s like having a disabled sibling, in a safe environment with others who know just where they are coming from. Run by siblings for siblings, SibShops provide a space to discuss practical tips and strategies to help them thrive in their own unique family and whānau environment. Our SibShops are incredibly popular so get in quick!
The event starts at the Hillier Centre then the siblings will be transported (with thanks to Cross Country Rentals) by bus to Rocktopia at 9 Triton Avenue for parent pick-up at 4:00pm. Please ensure your child wears trainers, no crocs are allowed on the climbing walls.
Thank you to IHC Foundation for funding this event.
