What does respite look like to you? Many Greater Canterbury families who filled out our survey mentioned that catching a daytime movie would be a real treat—and not something you’d think about doing while you’re home alone.
So, we’ve organised a free movie day at Apollo Lincoln Cinema for Selwyn parents and fulltime caregivers of disabled loved ones to get together, kick back and relax. The movie screening will be in a private cinema just for our Selwyn parents and caregivers, where we’ll catch ‘Freakier Friday’ (the sequel to Freaky Friday).
This day is all about having a little respite during the hours your loved one is occupied and connecting with other parents who ‘get it’. After the movie, Kai will be provided at the cinema restaurant, The Laboratory! Spaces are limited, so priority will be given to those living in the Selwyn region.
Please contact Sophie Carter on sophiec@parent2parent.org.nz to register or to ask any questions.
This event is free! Lunch will be provided.
