What does respite look like to you? Many Greater Canterbury families who filled out our survey mentioned that catching a daytime movie would be a real treat—and not something you’d think about doing while you’re home alone.
So, thanks to our Greater Canterbury respite funders, The Gift Trust, we’ve organised a free movie day at Alice Cinema so parents and caregivers of disabled loved ones can get together, kick back and relax. The movie screening will be in a private cinema just for Parent to Parent, where we’ll catch ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy’.
This day is all about having a little respite during the hours your loved one is occupied and connecting with other parents who ‘get it’. A snack option of ice cream and a soft drink will be provided. Following the screening, we hope to share some kai at a local restaurant (details TBC).
This event is free, thanks to funding from The Gift Trust.
