Passionate about fresh produce cooked with a modern twist making the produce the star, his three-course menu plans can be used for everyday cooking or dinner parties.
About Grant
From 1000 entrants, Grant managed to make the top 24 of MasterChef New Zealand 2012. In the same year he was also the winner of the Farro Fresh Home Cook Challenge at the Waikato Food & Wine Festival.
Grant is a former professional tennis coach so he’s experienced about holding his nerve in top competitions. But he always liked cooking, “probably because I like eating”. As a 17-year-old he decided to train as a chef until a friend asked if he would like to play tennis in Australia, and his career took a different turn.
Today he works from home as a funding planner for not-for-profit organisations – hence his close association with Parent to Parent – and he enjoys having time to cook.
He and wife Judy host hugely popular cooking demos at their Horsham Downs home.
Grant has tutored Hamilton’s Fraser High School adult night classes specialising in international cuisine, and operates a small catering business from his home and off-site.
